Residents have until Friday 18th March 2022 to provide feedback to Council on the Draft Aquatics Strategy.
This is the first time that Hepburn Shire Council has embarked on a full, Shire-wide investigation of its aquatic assets.
Council’s Draft Aquatics Strategy supports the “identified need for an indoor heated pool.” An indoor heated pool is of particular relevance to Creswick people who do not have a swimming pool.
Council’s aquatic strategy addresses health and safety issues at Calembeen Park, including the state of the toddler pool. The document covers ways in which the site could be improved for children’s water play.
Hepburn Shire Council now has a dedicated Aquatic Facilities team. They will be responsible for ensuring aquatic facilities across the Shire are maintained year round: not just between December-February. Our aquatic assets should remain in working order and not closed due to equipment break down.
Have a read of the draft strategy and complete the survey. You may think you’ve heard it all before! However, this is the first time Hepburn Shire Council has addressed all of its aging aquatic assets.
Council is serious in it’s intention to provide all towns in the Shire with access to year round swimming and water recreation for the future.
Hepburn Shire Council will launch a feasibility study into the provision of an indoor heated pool and this is expected to occur during this Council term.
